On August 13, the container vessel “MARIE MAERSK”, operated by shipping giant Maersk Line, caught fire off the coast of Liberia. The 2013-built Triple-E class vessel, capable of loading 19,076 TEU, departed from Rotterdam on August 4 and is currently thought to be off the coast of Liberia.
